Introduction to the Foundation in Engineering and Technology
The Twente Pathway College International Foundation Year in Sciences & Mathematics prepares students for success in the University of Twente's English-taught Bachelor's programmes in Engineering and Technology.

Programme Description
The Foundation in Engineering and Technology is designed for students interested in invention, design, construction, and processes who wish to make a difference in society through technological solutions. The programme helps students improve their English and academic skills, develop subject-specific knowledge, and adjust to a new academic and living environment.
Pathway Structure
The pathway structure consists of two stages:
- International Foundation: There are two Engineering & Technology tracks available, depending on the desired progression degree:
- Engineering & Technology – General pathway
- Engineering & Technology – Chemistry pathway
- First Year Degree: Upon completion of the Twente Pathway College international foundation year, students enter one of the University of Twente's top-rated Bachelor's programmes in Engineering or Technology.

Teaching and Assessment
Teaching is delivered through a combination of lectures, seminars, and project-based group work. Assessment includes a combination of examination and coursework elements, such as research reports, project reports, reflective statements, listening exams, debates, presentations, and portfolio assignments.
Progression Criteria
A minimum of 55% in all subjects is required to progress to the University. Successful completion of the foundation year guarantees progression to the Engineering & Technology bachelor programmes.
