The course is structured over three years, with the option to spend a year in industry or study abroad. Year 1

Students will study two 15-credit modules and three 30-credit modules, including:

  • Accounting Principles & Governance: Covers the basic principles of financial accounting and key concepts.
  • Management Accounting for Business: Introduces the basics of management accounting, including cost classification, cost behavior, and costing methods.
  • Financial Analytics & Economics: Equips students with the mathematical and analytical skills needed for finance careers.

Year 2

Students will study two 15-credit modules and three 30-credit modules, including:


  • Financial Reporting and Assurance: Covers more advanced accounting standards and the preparation of full financial statements.
  • Enhancing Career Readiness: Further develops the 'soft skills' needed by employers.
  • Personal Tax: Introduces the basic principles of income and capital taxes for individuals.
  • Management Accounting for Decision-Making: Focuses on tools and techniques management accountants use to support business decisions.
  • Quantitative Analysis & Business Reporting: Explores tools for analyzing financial data in accounting.

Year 3

Students have the choice to select a non-exemption pathway or an exemption pathway. Modules include:


  • Career Readiness to Career Success: Further develops the skills needed to make students 'career ready' by graduation.
  • International Mergers and Acquisitions: Explores the strategic, financial, and legal aspects of cross-border mergers and acquisitions.
  • Contemporary Issues in Accounting: Gives students the chance to explore current issues in the accounting industry.
  • Research and Consultancy project: Involves a significant research or practical consultancy project.
  • Financial Planning: Focuses on the six stages of financial planning.

Entry Requirements

  • Typical offer: 104-112 UCAS tariff points.
  • IELTS score: 6.0 overall with no individual element below 5.5.
  • UK students: 104-112 UCAS tariff points, with specific requirements for Level 3 qualifications.
  • International students: Pass the IB Diploma with minimum 26 points overall or 104 UCAS Tariff points from three Higher Level subjects.
