Overview

The world of business is full of opportunities. This practical course will help you find your calling in international business with modules ranging from consultancy to enterprise. Course Overview

The course gives you the opportunity to study business management in combination with another language. Adding a modern language to your degree means you can develop as a more effective communicator, acquire linguistic skills, and develop a wider cultural awareness. You can choose from French, Spanish, Modern Standard Arabic, Mandarin Chinese, and Japanese.

Year 1

In Year 1, you will study units designed to give you the key skills and ideas needed for the rest of your degree.

Year 2

In Year 2, you will take further language and business units.


  • Core modules:
    • Managing and Leading High Performing Teams

Year 3

In Year 3, you will have the option to spend a year on placement or studying abroad.

    • International Strategic Organisation

Study and Assessment

  • Study:
    • Year 1: 25% lectures, seminars, or similar; 75% independent study
    • Year 2: 25% lectures, seminars, or similar; 75% independent study
    • Year 3: 25% lectures, seminars, or similar; 75% independent study
  • Assessment:
    • Year 1: 100% coursework
    • Year 2: 100% coursework
    • Year 3: 100% coursework

Placements

After your second year, you can choose to progress to your final year or take an optional year out going on placement or studying abroad.


Entry Requirements

  • IELTS score: 6.0 overall with no component below 5.5
  • UK students:

    • Level 2 qualifications: GCSE grade C/4 in English Language and Mathematics

    • IB Diploma: minimum 26 points overall
    • IELTS: 6.0 overall with no component below 5.5
