LLB (Hons) Foundation Year Law

The LLB (Hons) Foundation Year Law is designed to prepare students for a full law degree and lead to a rewarding career in law. This foundation year helps students develop the academic and study skills required for degree-level work, with a focus on law and business-related modules.


Course Overview

The course is a one-year full-time program that provides an introduction to law and how it applies across society. Students will develop skills in abstract thinking, critical analysis, and practical problem-solving, preparing them for a broad range of exciting career possibilities.


Entry Requirements

  • Typical offer: 80 UCAS tariff points
  • IELTS score: 6.0 overall with no individual element below 5.5
  • UK students: 80 UCAS tariff points, with specific requirements for A levels, Pearson BTEC National Extended Diploma, and T Levels
  • International students: IB Diploma with minimum 24 points overall or 72-80 UCAS Tariff points from Higher Level, with specific requirements for English and Mathematics

Course Information

  • The course consists of eight 15-credit modules, including Study Skills, Business Intelligence, Business Economics, and Understanding and Managing People
  • Students will also study law-related modules, such as Civil Justice 1 and 2, and Criminal Justice 1 and 2
  • International and EU students whose first language is not English, and who have an IELTS score of less than 6.0, will also study an English for Academic Study module
