Course Structure
The course is structured over three years, with an optional fourth year for a placement. The curriculum includes a combination of core modules and optional modules, allowing students to tailor their learning to their interests and career goals.
Year 1
In the first year, students develop a solid foundation in human movement, physiology, and metabolism, as well as professional skills. Core modules include:

- Fundamentals of Sport and Exercise Psychology
- Fundamentals of Physiology and Exercise Metabolism
- Fundamentals of Human Movement
Year 2
The second year develops professional skills for sport and exercise science alongside specialist knowledge for health and exercise psychology, the application of biomechanics, physiology, and nutrition. Core modules include:
- Applied Exercise Physiology and Nutrition
- Applied Biomechanics in Health & Exercise
- Advanced Professional Skills for Sport and Exercise
- Applied Health and Exercise Psychology
Year 3
The third year explores the barriers to physical activity and health, the application of injury management and mitigation, as well as key skills for planning and analysis of research methods in sport. Students will also conduct a research project on a specialist theme or their choice linked to sport or health. Core modules include:
- Planning Projects in Sport and Exercise
- Health and Exercise Medicine, Injury and Rehabilitation
- Individual Project in Sport and Exercise
- Exercise Science for Clinical Populations
Entry Requirements
- Typical offer: 104-112 UCAS tariff points
- IELTS score: 6.0 overall with no component below 5.5
- UK students: Level 3 qualifications, including GCE A levels, Pearson BTEC National Extended Diploma, Access to HE Diploma, T level, and IB Diploma
- International students: IB Diploma, IELTS, and country-specific entry requirements
