Year 1

In the first year, students will study several core units, covering topics such as marketing in practice, strategy for digital, and live client brief. They will also complete their applied research proposal and project. In addition to the core units, students will study content strategy as an option unit.

  • Marketing Masters Level Learning: Develops critical thinking and advanced study skills necessary for working at the master's level.
  • Marketing Communications: Introduces students to the important area of marketing communications, including market sector analysis, marketing communications planning process, creativity within traditional and digital communications, and integrated campaigns.
  • Business to Business Marketing: Examines the important role that relationships play in business-to-business marketing, focusing on relationship marketing, relationship management, and the role that digitally managed relationships play.
  • Live Client Brief: Applies creativity and theoretical knowledge to a real business challenge, learning skills essential in the professional world.
  • Marketing Management: Provides students with an understanding of marketing and marketing management, and the application of specific marketing tools to a range of business contexts.
  • Marketing Psychology: Studies psychology and how it relates to consumers, stakeholders, and organizations in both the digital and analogue worlds.
  • Strategy for Digital: Develops skills to create a winning digital communications strategy, measure success, and create a seamless experience for clients.
  • Applied Research Proposal: Creates an advanced proposal for a research project, identifying and structuring a complex issue to be explored in the applied research project.
  • Applied Research Project: Investigates the issue identified in the proposal, presenting conclusions and reflections.

Option Modules

  • Content Strategy: Covers the theory and techniques behind creating, measuring, and optimizing digital content.

Year 2

Only students who apply for the optional internship route will continue to the second year.


Option Modules

  • Internship Year: Offers the opportunity to undertake a minimum of 36 weeks of experience in a relevant industry or self-employed option, developing individual competencies and vocationally relevant performance skills through practical experience.

Study and Assessment

  • Full-time: 20% lectures, seminars, or similar; 0% placement; 80% independent study.
  • Full-time: 100% coursework; 0% practical; 0% examination.

Placements

Students who choose to complete an optional internship year will be required to pay an additional fee. The internship year fee is estimated at £1,850 for all students.


Entry Requirements

  • A UK honors degree – at least a 2:2 – or the international equivalent.
  • Significant relevant professional experience, with accompanying references and/or professional qualifications, for those without a degree.
  • English Language Requirements: IELTS with an overall score of 6.5 with no less than 5.5 in any category, or an equivalent accepted English qualification.

Fees and Funding

  • UK and Channel Island students: Full-time fee: £11,500 per year.
  • EU and non-EU international students: Full-time fee: £22,500 per year.
  • Self-funding international students: May be eligible for the International Scholarship worth £5,000 off the tuition fees, making the fee £17,500.
  • Additional costs: Optional estimate for placement costs: £1,850; professional costs for Chartered Institute of Marketing membership; other costs for books, printing, and a laptop.
