Program Overview

BA (Hons) Marketing (Foundation Year)

The BA (Hons) Marketing (Foundation Year) is designed to provide students with a comprehensive introduction to the field of marketing, preparing them for further study in this area. This foundation year is ideal for students who do not meet the standard entry requirements for the full degree course.

Course Overview

A foundation year provides the perfect environment to advance academic abilities before continuing on to the full degree course. Key skills and knowledge gained during the year give students an excellent grounding and a wide exposure to a range of subjects within the triple-accredited business school.

Features and Benefits

  • Funding support: Students can apply for student finance (e.g., tuition fee loan, student loan, and student maintenance grant) in the same way as other students.
  • Triple accredited: The business school holds the globally recognized trio of accreditations from EQUIS, AACSB, and AMBA, placing it among the best business schools in the world.
  • Adapt to life at university: Develop study skills and get to know the campus and lecturers during the foundation year.
  • Enhance employability: Through activities including internships, volunteering, or learning a new language. With the award-winning ‘Rise at Manchester Met’ programme, students can gain extra academic credits towards their degree.
  • Supporting students in person and online: Student support initiatives include drop-in sessions, lecture recordings, and dedicated support, both on and offline.
  • Regular industry events: Attend guest talks and masterclasses from thought leaders in the industry and network with recruiting businesses.
  • Progress to a degree course: After the foundation year, students can join one of the marketing, brand, and advertising degree courses. Develop skills further and choose an optional industry placement or year studying abroad.
