Introduction to the MBA Master of Business Administration
The Manchester Met MBA is designed for professionals in managerial and leadership roles with aspirations to further their career and deepen their knowledge in areas such as strategy, marketing, operations management, accounting and finance, human resource management, leadership, business analytics, and entrepreneurship.
Course Overview
The MBA Master of Business Administration is a 2-year part-time course that equips future leaders with the knowledge and confidence to make decisions that have a positive impact on organisations, teams, and communities. The course is research-informed and co-created with industry experts, making it a Master of Business Administration for conscientious leaders, managers, and employers who support decent work and productivity.
Course Structure
The course consists of 8 modules and 2 projects, with a total of 180 credits. The modules are designed to develop the skills and knowledge required for responsible leadership, including strategic thinking, problem-solving, decision-making, and financial analysis.
Year 1
In Year 1, students will complete four 15-credit modules and one 30-credit project. The modules include:
- Dynamic Strategies for a Changing World (15 credits)
- Strategic Marketing Futures (15 credits)
- Developing Leadership for Decent Employment and Productivity (15 credits)
- Corporate Financial Management (15 credits)
- Transformational Applied Entrepreneurship (30 credits)
Year 2
In Year 2, students will complete four 15-credit modules and one 30-credit project. The modules include:
- Operations Management (15 credits)
- Leadership in Sustainable Finance and Accounting (15 credits)
- Global Economic Change and Business: Shifting Paradigms (15 credits)
- Business Analytics and Decision Support (15 credits)
- Consultancy in Action (30 credits)
Entry Requirements
To be considered for the course, applicants must have:
- A UK honours degree – 2:2 or above – or the international equivalent
- A minimum of 3 years relevant work experience at managerial level
- OR significant management experience (10 years or more) and a record of achievement in business and leadership
- If the first language is not English, evidence of English language proficiency is required (IELTS with an overall score of 6.5 with no less than 5.5 in any category, or an equivalent accepted English qualification)
Fees and Funding
The tuition fees for the course are:
- UK and Channel Island Students: £24,000 (£12,000 per year)
- EU and Non-EU International Students: £28,000 (£14,000 per year) There are also additional costs, including:
- Equipment: approximately £250-£500
- Field Trip: estimated travel cost dependent on the destination country and time of study abroad trip
- Travel: advised to consider the cost of return travel to Manchester for required campus attendance
