MA Public History and Heritage

The MA Public History and Heritage at Manchester Metropolitan University is a postgraduate program that focuses on the study of history and its application in the public sphere. Placements

Students can choose to undertake a placement related to their research interests, which will provide them with hands-on experience in the heritage sector. Previous placements have included National Trust properties, the People's History Museum, and the Ahmed Iqbal Ullah Race Relations Resource Centre.


Entry Requirements

  • Graduates with a 2.1 degree or higher in History or associated discipline
  • Those who achieve a 2.2 in History, or who have a Masters from a non-Humanities field will be considered on the merits of their individual application
  • International students will be required to demonstrate a sufficiently high standard of English language ability

Fees and Funding

  • UK and Channel Island students: £10,250 per year
  • EU and non-EU international students: £20,000 per year
  • Additional costs: placement costs, professional costs, and other costs
