Program Overview


MSc Sport and Exercise Medicine

The MSc Sport and Exercise Medicine program at Manchester Metropolitan University is designed for qualified doctors, physiotherapists, and osteopaths with clinical experience. Course Overview

Course Structure

To gain the MSc Sport and Exercise Medicine, students must complete 180 credits at Level 7. The program consists of core and option modules, including:

Assessment methods include:


  • Full-time: 70% coursework; 30% practical; 0% examination

Entry Requirements

Applicants should hold:


  • An MBChB (MBBS) or equivalent
  • A degree in physiotherapy (normally 2.2 or above) or a graduate diploma in physiotherapy together with evidence of an approved and relevant post-qualification education
  • A degree in Osteopathy (M Ost (Hons), normally 2.2 or above)
  • Two years' clinical experience

All students applying for the course will usually be required to have two years' clinical experience, but the final decision on an applicant's suitability will be made at interview.


Fees and Funding

  • UK and Channel Island students: Full-time fee £10,250 per year; Part-time fee £1,709 per 30 credits
  • EU and non-EU international students: Full-time fee £20,000 per year; Part-time fee £3,334 per 30 credits
