BSc (Hons) Sports Marketing Management (Foundation Year)
Overview
This course is designed to prepare students for studying the BSc (Hons) Sports Marketing Management degree. The foundation year helps develop the skills and knowledge needed to study for an honours degree, even if students don't currently meet the academic requirements.
Course Information
The course prepares students for real life in the industry. Students will complete practical projects like developing a sponsorship proposal, creating a digital marketing campaign, or putting together a business plan for a new sports enterprise. The full degree course includes the chance to spend a year on placement with an employer or study abroad at one of the university's partner universities.

Year 1
Students will study eight 15-credit units, including:
- Study Skills
- Business Intelligence
- Fundamentals of Marketing
- Finance for Business
- Introduction to Management
- Understanding and Managing People
- Customer Service Management
- Understanding the Events, Hospitality, Sport, and Tourism Industries
Study and Assessment
- Year 1: 25% lectures, seminars, or similar; 75% independent study
- Year 1: 100% coursework
Placements
If students progress onto the full degree course, they will have the opportunity to do a placement, study or work abroad in Year 3 of their degree.
Entry Requirements
- Typical offer: 72-80 UCAS tariff points
- IELTS score: 5.5 overall with no individual element below 5.5
- UK students: 72-80 UCAS tariff points from Level 3 qualifications
- International students: IB Diploma with minimum 24 points overall or 72-80 UCAS Tariff points from Higher Level
