- Year 2: Core modules include Coordination Complexes and Inorganic Materials, Methods and Strategies in Organic Synthesis, Physical Chemistry: Principles of Chemical Change, Molecular Analysis & Instrumental Methods, and Practical Chemistry.
- Year 3: Core modules include Research Project, Advanced Chemistry Practical, Heterocycles, Selectivity and Modern Synthesis, Organometallic, Bioinorganic & Photochemistry, and Surface Science and Theoretical Chemistry.
- Option modules: Choose one from a list that may include Separation Techniques & Analytical Toxicology, Chemical Engineering 2, Forensic Science and the Law, Interpretation of Forensic Evidence, Mass Spectrometry, NMR, Electroanalysis & Sensors, Molecular Targets and Drug Design, and Sustainable Industrial Systems.
Placements
The Chemistry BSc(Hons) program offers students the opportunity to undertake a placement year, which can be spent working in a relevant industry or organization. Previous students have undertaken placements with companies such as Arxada, Chemfix, Cyprotex, Kemira, Rosehill Polymers, Thornton & Ross, and the University of Huddersfield.
