Overview

The Cyber Security and Digital Forensics MSc course at the University of Huddersfield is designed for individuals passionate about protecting against cyber-attacks and recovering and investigating digital evidence. This advanced course meets the demand for experts with a wide range of security, investigative, and general computing skills.

Key Information

• Entry Requirements: An Honours degree (2:2 or above) in Computing or a related subject, or an equivalent professional qualification. Other qualifications and/or experience that demonstrate appropriate knowledge and skills at an Honours degree level are also considered. Substantial (3 years) relevant industry experience is also accepted.
• Start Dates: 22 September 2025, 12 January 2026, and 18 May 2026.
• Duration: 1 year full-time.

Course Detail

The course includes various modules designed to equip students with the ability and knowledge to evaluate existing and emerging cyber forensics technologies, implement cyber security solutions, and acquire, preserve, and analyze digital evidence. Some of the modules include:

Teaching and Assessment

The course will mainly focus on a flipped learning approach supported by a variety of learning activities, including lectures, seminars, and practice-led, self-directed, and experiential learning. Assessments will include coursework, quizzes, presentations, and demonstrations, reflecting the emphasis on the ability to apply knowledge and skills.

• Tuition Fees - Full-time: In 2025/26, the full-time tuition fee for UK postgraduate students on this course will be £9,900 (Band 3).
