Overview
This course is primarily aimed at international students looking to progress into a career in training, human resource development in a wide range of international organisations in the education, voluntary or commercial sectors.

Entry Requirements
This course represents the final year of an undergraduate degree.
- You will normally have a HND or overseas equivalents (two years post baccalaureate) or successful completion of a foundation degree with 120 ECTS credits (or equivalent).
- Each application will be considered on an individual basis.
- If your first language is not English, you will need to meet the minimum requirements of an English Language qualification. The minimum for IELTS is 6.0 overall with no element lower than 5.5, or equivalent.

Course Detail
Core Modules
- Human Resource Development and Training: This module seeks to introduce the theories and practices of human resource development, helping you to understand the theoretical considerations in organising and delivering training. Assessment is typically the development of a training package and written report and aims to help you develop effective skills for developing training in the workplace.
- Planning Your Final Year Project: This module will help you to learn how to design and conduct a final year project. It does this by exploring a range of research and design approaches, strategies and methods.
- Final Year Project: This module allows you to pursue your academic and work-related interests and to demonstrate the breadth of knowledge, understanding, and strengths that you have developed during your degree studies.
Option Modules
- Leadership and Management in Professional Contexts: This module seeks to develop your understanding of theories of leadership, management and the organisation of professional practice.
- Helping in Context (Counselling, Coaching and Mentoring): This module develops your understanding of theories concerning counselling, coaching and mentoring.
Teaching and Assessment
- You’ll be taught through a series of lectures, seminars, tutorials and interactive workshops.
- On average, 15% of the study time on the course is spent with your tutors (either face to face or online) in lectures, seminars, tutorials etc.
- You’ll also have a personal tutor who’ll be assigned to you throughout your degree to support your ongoing wellbeing and ensure that you have a positive learning experience.
Fees and Finance
Tuition Fees - Full-time
- The maximum fees we will charge for UK based students on undergraduate courses in 2025/26 will be £9,535 per year for full-time students (subject to parliamentary approval).
- Tuition fees will cover the cost of your study at the University as well as charges for registration, tuition, supervision and examinations.
