Technology and System Requirements
As a Distance Learning student, participants must have access to the following IT equipment and facilities to access the Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) and fully participate in the course:
- Personal computer (courses are designed for personal computers, and some content may not be fully accessible via mobile devices)
- Internet connection with sufficient bandwidth to allow video streaming (4Mps minimum)
- Microphone and webcam
Browser
The course can be accessed using the latest versions of Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Apple Safari, or Microsoft Edge. Full functionality cannot be guaranteed in older or less commonly used browsers. JavaScript must be enabled in the preferred browser.

The personal computer and webcam will require the following minimum specifications to access the course and study materials:
- Headphones, soundcard, and speakers, microphone, and webcam
- Minimum Intel Core i5 (Minimum Dual Core 2 GHz) or AMD A10 or equivalent, 4GB of RAM (recommended 8 GB for better overall experience), with a screen resolution of at least 1280x800px

- Office 365 Access to these applications will be provided to students as part of the University of Huddersfield.
Entry Requirements
If the first language is not English, students will need to meet the minimum requirements, which include:
- The Duolingo English test, with a score of 105 or above
- An updated experience statement to also include 'work': Where students have studied in an English-speaking country, worked for an English-speaking company, or have a UK degree - this proof is accepted within two years of passing as meeting the English Language requirements
- IELTS 6.0 overall with no element lower than 5.5, or an equivalent qualification
Fees and Finance
The total fee for UK and international students on this course in 2025/26 will be £1,100. Tuition fees will cover the cost of study at the University.
