Program Overview


Overview

The Health Professional Education MSc is aimed at all healthcare professionals wishing to gain a recognised teaching qualification. It explores teaching and learning theory and practice within a national and international context. This will enable students to develop their knowledge, skills, and abilities related to evidence-based learning and teaching and assessment, which they will be able to apply within a range of academic and health professional settings.

  • Applicants must hold an Honours degree (2:2 or above) or equivalent.
  • Applicants must be a Registered Healthcare Professional.
  • If the first language is not English, students will need to meet the minimum requirements of an English Language qualification. The minimum for IELTS is 6.5 overall with no element lower than 6.0, or equivalent.

Placements

All students are required to complete 180 teaching practice hours. In order to achieve this, students will be required to access teaching and learning opportunities in practice and Higher Education. This will be facilitated through negotiation and under supervision of an academic supervisor.

Tuition Fees - full-time

In 2025/26, the full-time tuition fee for UK postgraduate students on this course will be £8,900 (Band 2).


Tuition Fees - part-time

In 2025/26, the part-time tuition fee for UK postgraduate students on this course will be £740 (Band 2) per 15 credit module and £1,480 (Band 2) per 30 credit module.
