Overview of the Natural Sciences BSc(Hons) Program

The Natural Sciences BSc(Hons) program is designed to provide students with an interdisciplinary approach to scientific challenges, preparing them for careers in various sectors. This flexible course allows students to study their chosen area of science in depth, with a firm foundational knowledge in Natural Sciences subjects such as chemistry, biology, chemical engineering, environmental science, and mathematics.

Program Structure

• The program is structured over three years, with an optional placement year available after the second year.
• Students will gain practical, hands-on experience in state-of-the-art laboratories and facilities.
• The course includes a range of core and optional modules, allowing students to tailor their studies to their interests and career goals.

Core Modules

• Research Skills: This module provides students with the requisite background skills for successful completion of an Honours Degree in Biology, including literacy, numeracy, and IT skills.
• Research Skills 2: This module further develops general research skills, including writing, presentations, and statistical analysis.
• Research Project: The final year research project allows students to conduct independent, hypothesis-driven research under the supervision of an academic staff member.
