Program Overview
Overview of the Physiotherapy (Degree Apprenticeship) BSc(Hons) Program
The Physiotherapy (Degree Apprenticeship) BSc(Hons) program is designed to provide students with the opportunity to study physiotherapy while being employed in the allied-health related sector. This apprenticeship course combines theoretical knowledge with practical skills, allowing students to develop a wide range of competencies in physiotherapy.
Program Structure
- The program is delivered through a blended learning approach, comprising synchronous and asynchronous resources.
- Students will spend 80% of their time in their current workplace and 20% at the University, undertaking theory work and developing practical skills.
- The course is designed to be progressively demanding, with students undertaking seven clinical practices across the program of study.
Entry Requirements
- A Level: BBC
- BTEC: DMM
- Access to Higher Education Diploma: 45 Level 3 credits, 15 at Distinction, 30 at Merit
- NCFE CACHE Technical Level 3 Extended Diploma/Level 3 Extended Diploma: Grade B
- GCSE English Literature and Mathematics: grade 4 or above, or grade C or above if awarded under the previous GCSE grading scheme
- Level 2 Functional Skills in Maths and English
- Students must be at least 16 years old, have lived in the EEA for the past 3 years, and currently reside in the United Kingdom
- Students must be employed in a role relevant to their apprenticeship for more than 30 hours per week in England

Placements
- Students will undertake seven clinical practices across the program of study, exceeding the threshold of 1000 clinical hours required to register with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP)
Fees and Finance
- As an apprentice, there is no tuition fee to pay for the higher or degree apprenticeship, as tuition fees are covered by the employer and the government through the levy

- The course is accredited by the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) and subject to approval regulated by the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
