Overview of the Theory of Podiatric Surgery MSc Program
The Theory of Podiatric Surgery MSc program is designed for practicing and newly qualified podiatrists who wish to expand and develop their knowledge and skills in this specialist area. This course offers the opportunity to enhance clinical practice skills and gain the competencies required to become a podiatric surgeon.

Entry Requirements
- Possess an Honours degree in Podiatry or an equivalent qualification. Individuals without Honours or with a Diploma in Podiatric Medicine will be considered on an individual basis by the admission team.
- Be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) or the relevant registration authority in your country of origin.
- If you trained overseas, you must be registered with an appropriate governing body.
- You also need satisfactory enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) and occupational health clearances prior to registration.

- Duration: 1 year full-time, 2 years part-time
Course Detail
Core Modules
- Theory of Clinical Practice: Improve clinical skills in a wide variety of clinical settings.
- Clinical Assessment and Management: Appraise and apply a broad range of assessment and management strategies relating to the lower limb.
- Clinical Investigations and Diagnostic Imaging for Podiatrists: Develop the key skills required to order and interpret a range of clinical investigations and imaging modalities.
- Principles of Podiatric Surgery: Introduce the surgical skills required to support podiatric surgical practice.
- Project (Health Related): Develop a working project proposal related to course outcomes or place of work.
Teaching and Assessment
Teaching will be delivered through study blocks, online learning, podcasts, and discussion forums. Assessment will involve seminar presentations, assignments, oral examinations, and clinical assessments.

Tuition Fees
- Full-time: £8,900 (Band 2) for UK postgraduate students in 2025/26.
- Part-time: £740 (Band 2) per 15 credit module and £1,480 (Band 2) per 30 credit module for UK postgraduate students in 2025/26.
