Pharmacy Technician Program

Program Overview

The Pharmacy Technician Program at Excel Career College is a comprehensive 52-week training program designed to prepare students for a successful career in pharmacy. This program is aligned with the standards and competencies set by the National Association of Pharmacy Regulatory Authorities (NAPRA) and the Canadian Council for Accreditation of Pharmacy Programs (CCAPP).

Admission Requirements

Students are required to be 19 years of age prior to the start of the program or possess a high school diploma (or equivalent), and provide evidence of:


  • Mathematics Grade 11 (minimum grade of C)
  • Biology Grade 12 (minimum grade of C)
  • Chemistry Grade 11 (minimum grade of C) Additionally, students must provide evidence of one of the following:
  • English Grade 12 (minimum grade of C) and evidence of successful completion of two years of full-time secondary education (Grades 10, 11, or 12) in English, in a country where English is one of the principal languages, OR
  • Successful completion of a three-credit academic English Course or equivalent (minimum grade of C) and evidence of successful completion of two years of full-time post-secondary at an accredited institution in Canada, OR,
  • Proof of passing one of the following English Language proficiency tests at the level indicated:
    • IELTS Academic: Reading 7.0, Listening 7.0, Speaking 7.0, Writing 6.5
    • OET: Reading B, Listening B, Speaking B, Writing C+
