Program Overview
Overview
The Public Health MPH and PGCert programmes are designed to equip students with the advanced skills needed to tackle today's complex public health challenges. These programmes will evaluate and critically appraise approaches to health and disease, preparing students for a career in public health in the UK and internationally.
What You'll Learn
Students will gain a deep understanding of current public health issues, including:
- addressing the social and commercial determinants of health to reduce inequalities
- designing effective behavioural interventions for public health improvement
- engaging patients and communities through meaningful public and patient involvement (PPI)
- using advanced epidemiological and statistical methods to study and improve population health

Your Development
The research project serves as the culmination of the skills gained throughout the course, allowing students to apply what they've learned in a real-world setting. Fees and Funding
Tuition fees for 2026 entry (per year)
- MPH (1 year) Full time: £12,800 (Home students), £30,800 (International students)
- MPH (2 years) Part time: £6,400 (Home students)
- MPH (3 years) Part time: £4,250 (Home students)

The university offers a range of scholarships, including Vice-Chancellor's automatic and merit-based scholarships.
Entry Requirements
Academic entry requirements
- A 2:1 honours degree, or international equivalent, in a medical, health or social sciences discipline.
- If you have a 2.2 honours degree (or international equivalent) in a relevant subject, your application will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
English Language requirements
- IELTS, Pearson, Duolingo English Test, TOEFL, or other accepted qualifications.
