Entry Requirements

The entrance requirements for 2026 entry include:


  • A 2:1 honours degree and preferably a merit master's degree, or international equivalent, in a relevant subject.

How to Apply

There are usually two possible start dates, although in some circumstances, an alternative start date can be arranged. These are either September or January. There is no application closing date for this course. International students are advised to apply at least two months before the course starts. A research proposal must be submitted with the application. Guidelines for producing a research proposal are available. A deposit of £1,500 is required for international students or students from the EU, EEA, or Switzerland who need a visa to study in the UK. The deposit is non-refundable but will be deducted from the tuition fees when the student registers. Programme codes are available for full-time and part-time PhD studies. The application portal provides instructions to guide the application process, and applicants can choose to start their application, save their details, and come back to complete it later.
