Modules and Learning

• Stage 1: Students divide their time equally between the two or three subjects they have chosen.
• Stage 2 and 3: Students can choose how to combine their subjects and how many they wish to study.
• Subjects currently available: Archaeology, Business, Chinese, Classics, Education, English Literature, Film (Documentary Practice), French, Geography, German, History, Art History, Japanese, Law, Linguistics, Media and Communication, Music, Philosophy, Politics, Portuguese, Sociology, Spanish and Latin American Studies.

Teaching and Assessment

• Teaching methods: Students are taught by staff from within the different subject areas that they choose to study.
• Assessment methods: Students are assessed through a combination of assessments, coursework, and projects.

Opportunities

• Study abroad: Students have the opportunity to spend a year abroad between Stages 2 and 3, extending their degree to four years.
• Work placement: Students have the opportunity to take a 9 to 12 month work placement in the UK or abroad between Stages 2 and 3.

• Facilities: Students have access to a range of facilities, including an award-winning library service, excellent IT facilities, and a range of study support and wellbeing services.
• Support: Students have the support of an academic member of staff as a personal tutor throughout their degree.

Entry Requirements

• A-Level: AAB. Specific subjects and grades may be required depending on the combination to be studied.
• International Baccalaureate: A minimum of 34 points including at least two subjects at Higher Level grade 6 or above.

Tuition Fees and Scholarships

• Tuition fees for academic year 2026: The 2026 entry home fees have not yet been confirmed.
• International students: Depending on your residency history, if you’re a student from the EU, other EEA or a Swiss national, with settled or pre-settled status under the EU Settlement Scheme, you’ll normally pay the ‘Home’ tuition fee rate and may be eligible for Student Finance England support.
