Program Overview
Dementia Care: Living Well as Dementia Progresses
Course Information
The Dementia Care: Living Well as Dementia Progresses course is designed to provide advice and support for individuals living with dementia and their families. As dementia progresses, those with the condition are less able to share their views and wishes, making it essential for families and healthcare professionals to make informed decisions on their behalf. Studies have shown that discussing the future early on, with the support of a healthcare professional, aids decision-making and helps respect the person with dementia's wishes.
Course Objectives
On this course, participants will learn how to be better prepared and supported for living with dementia themselves or caring for someone living with the disease. The course aims to ensure good quality of life and comfort for both the carer and the person living with dementia.
