Course Information

The Autism Clinical Interview for Adults (ACIA) training is a two-hour course that enables delegates to use the Autism Clinical Interview for Adults (ACIA), a diagnostic assessment for individuals aged 16 years and over with possible autism. The ACIA can be used in clinical services or research.

Delegates will receive training in ACIA use and administration. Following training, PDF copies of the ACIA documents will be provided to delegates free of charge, including the ACIA Manual, Pre-interview Questionnaires, and the ACIA Subject and Informant versions of the main Interview.

The ACIA Materials will be made available under sublicense from Newcastle University, and following training, there will be no charge for ACIA use. The PDF and paper copies provided should be used to create colour printed versions or colour photocopies of the ACIA materials for personal use in diagnostic services. Clinical services should pay for local printing/copying. Versions printed or copied should be exact copies, and trained delegates are not permitted to edit or change the ACIA or transfer them to others. The full list of Conditions of Use for the ACIA will be circulated to delegates prior to the course and discussed during training.

The ACIA training has been kept low-cost to maximize opportunities for uptake, and funds from training are reinvested in further ACIA development.

Course Agenda

Paper or PDF versions of the materials will be sent prior to training, and delegates are suggested to identify time to read through the materials prior to training. There are substantial opportunities for discussion and for delegates to ask questions about diagnostic assessments and ACIA use.
