Program Overview
Introduction to the Systems Engineering MSc Program
The Systems Engineering MSc program at Loughborough University is designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to manage complex systems and projects. The program is accredited by the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) and the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE), and is aligned with industry-standard competencies as defined by the International Council on System Engineering (INCOSE) and the Institute For Apprenticeships and Technical Education.
Program Structure
The MSc program is structured into block-taught weeks, with students engaging in all learning and teaching on campus during a full week (Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm). Afterward, students have about four weeks to submit any associated coursework. This applies to both full-time and part-time study options.

Entry Requirements
The entry requirements for the Systems Engineering MSc program are as follows:
- A Bachelor’s honours degree, typically a 2:2 or above.
- Ideally, an undergraduate degree in an engineering or physical science.
- We also welcome applications from mature students and recognize all other equivalent and international qualifications.
- Applicants with academic qualifications that do not meet the standard entry criteria may be considered if they have significant relevant work experience.
