Fine Art BA (Hons) Degree

The Fine Art BA (Hons) degree at Loughborough University offers a vibrant, creative, and critical environment that explores the possibilities of contemporary fine art practice and theory. Through the medium of drawing, painting, sculpture, and print, to photography, video, and sound, digital media, and interdisciplinary activities, students will develop an exciting and diverse body of work.

Overview

Fine Art at Loughborough provides a studio-based course, and all students will be allocated their own studio space in which to work and develop their art. A variety of teaching methods are used to support independent practice, including lectures, seminars, tutorials, independent study, group work, supervision, and workshops.

Course Structure

The course is structured over three years, with the option to undertake a year in enterprise or a professional placement, at the end of which students will gain a Diploma in Professional Studies (DPS). This is an additional award to the final qualification students will receive once they have successfully completed the course.
