Program Overview


Overview

The program "Writing the past" is a lecture-only module that explores Herodotus' Histories, the first written prose account of the past that explores the entire known world in a series of interweaving stories. This module aims to explain the Greco-Persian Wars and answer a question at the heart of history: why?


Time, Date, and Place

This module comprises of two classes per week over one term, commencing the week beginning 19 January 2026. Classes will be taught in a classroom on the Trinity campus.


Course Fees

The course fees are €170 full rate, €90 concession rate. The concession rate is available to all those retired, over 65s and those on a government pension/payment plan and the unwaged, including second and third level students.
