Program Details

Biological Science, Pre-Med Option, B.S.B.S.

The Biological Science, Pre-Med Option, B.S.B.S. program is designed to prepare students for medical school. The program requires:


  • Completion of the Tulsa Curriculum and First Year Experience
  • Core courses in biological science, including introduction to organismal and evolutionary biology, introduction to molecular and cellular biology, genetics, and senior seminar
  • Electives in biological science, mathematical sciences, physics, and chemistry
  • A supplemental area of concentration in chemistry
  • General electives

Learning Outcomes

Students who complete the undergraduate program in biological science or biology will demonstrate skills relevant to:


  • Fundamental understanding of basic genetics and evolution
  • Basic knowledge of cell structure and function and molecular biology
  • Basic knowledge of comparative organismic diversity
  • Understanding of basic organismal adaptations to ecological environments
  • Analysis and evaluation of scientific data and/or current literature
