Computer Simulation and Gaming, B.S.C.S.G.

The Bachelor of Science in Computer Simulation and Gaming program prepares students to analyze complex computing problems, apply principles of computing, and design, implement, and evaluate computing-based solutions. The program focuses on game design principles, technical skills, and creating interactive digital experiences.

  • Quad I: Creative Arts (6 hours)

Computer Simulation and Gaming Major Requirements

  • Art: ART 2063 Digital Art: Survey and Practice
  • Physical Science: PHYS 1013 Introductory Physics I, PHYS 2053 General Physics I
  • Mathematics: MATH 1143 Mathematical Functions, MATH 1163 Pre-calculus Mathematics
  • Computer Science: CS 1001 Introduction to Computer Science, CS 1043 Introduction to Programming and Problem-solving
  • Computer Simulation and Gaming Core: CSG 1003 Game Design Concepts, CSG 3013 Introduction to Real-Time Engines

CSG Electives Specialization (24 hours)

Students must complete a minimum of 8 elective courses in Computer Simulation and Gaming, totaling 24 credits. The elective courses may be chosen from the following specialization areas:


  • Animation and Visual Effects
  • Game Design
  • Art and Graphics
  • Game Development and Engineering
  • Simulation and Serious Games
  • Game Production

General Electives (12 hours)

Selected with approval of CSG faculty advisor. The required number of electives will vary if the student double counts the Quad and required program courses.


Total: 120 hours

To become a candidate for a degree in Computer Simulation and Gaming, a student must complete all computer science and computer simulation and gaming courses in the curriculum with a grade point average of at least 2.0, and earn a grade point average of 2.0 or higher overall.
