Program Overview
Economics, B.S.B.A.
The Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (B.S.B.A.) with a major in economics is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of economic principles and their application in business. The program is offered by the Collins College of Business, with faculty mentorship from the Department of Economics in the Kendall College of Arts and Sciences.

Tulsa Curriculum and First Year Experience
The Tulsa Curriculum is designed to provide students with a well-rounded education, including:
- FYE 1001 First Year Experience
- ENGL 1033 Exposition and Argumentation
- ENGL 2093 STEM and Business Writing
- MATH 1143 Mathematical Functions
- MATH 1243 Applied Calculus
General Curriculum
The general curriculum includes:
- Quad I: Creative Arts (6 hours)
- Quad II: Humanities (6 hours)
- Quad III: Social Sciences (6 hours)
- Quad IV: Natural and Applied Sciences (7 hours)
Some major required courses may be double-counted to fulfill a quad requirement.
Language Requirement (8 hours)
Students must complete or show proficiency through the first year of a modern foreign language (8 hours) or meet the foreign language requirement by earning nine (9) hours of credit in American Sign Language.

Economics Major Requirements
The economics major requirements include:
- ECON 2013 Principles of Economics I: Macroeconomics

- ECON 3033 Microeconomic Theory
- ECON 4053 History of Economic Theory
- Economics electives at the 3000 level (9 hours)
General Electives (9 hours)
Only courses from outside of the Collins College of Business may be used for general education electives.
Free Electives (12 hours)
Any non-required undergraduate course offered by the institution.
Total: 120 hours
Economics majors must complete ENGL 1033, MATH 1143, MATH 1243 (or higher-level math courses), with a grade of C or higher. B.S.B.A. Economics majors must meet the college’s language requirements. Economics majors must complete each of the Business Core courses with a grade of C or higher, except for courses designated Pass/Fail. ECON 2013 and ECON 2023 are required courses in the Business Core which are also used to fulfill part of the Tulsa Curriculum Quad III requirement.
