Program Learning Outcomes

Eligibility

  • Candidate has a baccalaureate degree in business, OR
    • Candidate has a baccalaureate degree in a non-business area, three semester hours in accounting, six additional semester hours in accounting, business, or finance-related coursework (such as economics, statistics, information systems, and operations management) - (9 credit hours)

Curriculum: 12 Credit Hours

  • EDAD 563: School Finance, Business Affairs, and Physical Facilities (3 Credit Hours) - A thorough examination of financial operations, resource management, budgetary control, purchasing processes, school insurance, facility management, pupil transportation, and school construction.
  • EDAD 565: School Law (3 Credit Hours) - An in-depth exploration of key legal issues in education, including U.S. Supreme Court cases, federal and state statutes, constitutional law, labor issues, student and parent rights, and community interests.
  • EDAD 772: Administrative Specialist (School Treasurer Emphasis) Internship I (3 Credit Hours) - A supervised internship providing practical experience in school treasurer duties, focusing on applying classroom knowledge to real-world scenarios. Minimum 150 hour internship.
  • EDAD 782: Administrative Specialist (School Treasurer Emphasis) Internship II (3 Credit Hours) - A continuation of internship 1, with a minimum of 150 additional hours of supervised internship.
