The Economics program at North Seattle College offers an Associate in Business - Direct Transfer Agreement (BUCBUAA) degree with a concentration in Economics. This pathway meets the requirements for the Associate in Business - DTA (AB-DTA) degree and allows students to transfer at the junior level into an Economics program at a four-year college or university.
Program Details
- The program consists of 90 units and can be completed in six quarters on a full-time schedule.
- The curriculum includes courses in economics, business, mathematics, and communication, as well as electives in areas such as accounting, finance, and international business.
- Students learn a unique way of thinking about problems, decisions, and outcomes through the lens of economics, including topics such as markets and prices, consumer behavior, employment, inflation, international trade, and government policy.
- The program develops skills in data analysis, critical thinking, quantitative and qualitative research, verbal communication, group communication and collaboration, and leadership and facilitation.

North Seattle College has direct transfer agreements with four-year institutions throughout Washington state, including the University of Washington, Washington State University, and Seattle University. Economics graduates from North have also transferred to out-of-state institutions. Program and admissions requirements vary from college-to-college.
