Program Overview
The Management, MS (MSM) program is a graduate program that offers a concentration in Accountancy. Admission to the program is limited and competitive, with applicants required to complete a Graduate Concentration in Accountancy application, signed by their graduate advisor and/or graduate program director.
Admission Criteria
Admission to the program is on a competitive basis, with the Director of the MSA program monitoring the admission process. To be eligible for the concentration, students must apply to the Department and be admitted to one of the following graduate programs: Finance, MS (MSF), Technology Management, MS (MSTM), or Management, MS (MSM).

Program Requirements
The concentration requires twelve graduate hours of coursework. Students must choose three courses from the following list:
- ACCY 501: Accounting Analysis I (4 hours)
- ACCY 502: Accounting Analysis II (4 hours)
- ACCY 503: Managerial Accounting (4 hours)
- ACCY 517: Financial Statement Analysis and Valuation (4 hours) Alternatively, students may substitute graduate accountancy courses approved by the Accountancy MSA Academic Director.
Other Requirements
In addition to the concentration requirements, students must also complete the requirements of their major degree.
Facilities and Resources
The Gies College of Business houses computer facilities, a behavioral science laboratory, and a separate library. The college maintains contacts with industry and government through its Survey Research Laboratory, Illinois Business Consulting, the Academy for Entrepreneurial Leadership, and several professional and scholarly journals edited by its faculty.
