MS, Management Information Systems

The MS, Management Information Systems program is offered by the Mays Business School, Department of Information and Operations Management at Texas A&M University - College Station.

This full-time program produces graduates who are both business analysts and information system specialists. Graduates of the program possess the business, technical, and leadership skills to meet the challenges presented by rapidly evolving information technology and the need to effectively incorporate this technology into business strategy and day-to-day operations.

Curriculum

The MS-MIS program is a 36 credit-hour, in-residence program offering optional internship opportunities. The program has four prerequisites; applicants are most competitive when at least two are completed at the time of application submission. Program prerequisites include courses in the following:

  • Systems Analysis and Design
  • Networking

Students choose seven elective courses in areas such as management, computer science, accounting, finance, statistics, and marketing. Students are also able to complete up to two professional internships while in the program.


Outcomes

Graduates of the program are qualified to pursue a variety of careers in IT, such as business, systems, or network analyst, database administrator, software developer, risk assurance specialist, systems developer, web developer, and more.
