Programme Overview

FranÁais langue ťtrangŤre: approche discursive is an international Masters programme (120 ECTS) that offers a Double Degree as a cooperation between Ňbo Akademi University, the University of Turku, and the Universitť de Nantes. The programme requires good knowledge of French.

Double DiplŰme: Programme International de Master

The department of French language and literature participates in the international Master's programme (double diploma) with the Universitť de Nantes. The partner in Finland is the University of Turku and its department of French, with which they propose to selected students courses on the theme FranÁais langue ťtrangŤre: approche discursive.

At the end of the programme, they propose to students two Master's degrees (Finnish and French) based on studies made partly at Turku at the University of Turku and at Ňbo Akademi University and, on the other hand, at the Universitť de Nantes. The programme includes a mandatory mobility period at the Universitť de Nantes. It is planned that students from the three universities will participate in the programme (students from the Universitť de Nantes doing their mobility period in Turku).

Contenu et Objectifs du Double DiplŰme

The programme's content aims at expertise in language sciences as well as in French as a foreign language. The three departments and their researchers have different and complementary profiles, which allows them to offer students a wide variety of courses and a solid scientific basis in the studies. Moreover, the mobility of one or two semesters at the Universitť de Nantes gives the training an important international dimension.

The double diploma opens up to students the possibility of orienting themselves towards the international job market. During the studies, students can follow online courses, and digital teaching and learning will thus have a place in the Master's programme.

The partner departments are, at the University of Turku: the Institute of Language and Translation Studies and the Department of French; at Ňbo Akademi University: the Department of French Language and Literature; at the Universitť de Nantes: the Department of Language Sciences of the UFR of Letters and Language.

The diploma consists of 120 credits, which include a 30-credit Master's thesis. The duration of the studies is two academic years. The double diploma allows the student to pursue doctoral studies.

The double diploma includes a mandatory mobility period of one semester in Nantes, but the student may have the possibility of pursuing studies for two semesters. The diploma bears the names of the universities, and in addition, each student receives a transcript from each university specifying the courses followed and the results.
