Introduction to the Master's Program in Economics

The Master's program in Economics at Radboud University challenges students to look at economics differently, discovering that it encompasses more than just money, markets, and regulations. Economists examine the financial behavior and decision-making of consumers, businesses, and governments.

Master's Specialisations

The program offers six Master's specialisations:

• Accounting and Control: Gain the skills and knowledge required to become a professional in auditing, accountancy, controlling, financial management, and consulting.
  • This specialisation focuses on the domains of auditing, accountancy, controlling, and financial management and consulting.
• Corporate Finance and Control: Focus on the financial management and governance of firms, learning how to deal with economic, managerial, legal, and reporting aspects to strengthen and maximise enterprise value.
  • This specialisation covers the financial management and governance of firms.
• Economics, Behaviour and Policy: Making economic policy smarter and effective as an advisor, policy maker, or manager by introducing psychology, political science, and sociology in governmental and non-governmental policy design.
  • This specialisation bridges the gap between theory and practice in policy design.
• Financial Economics: Learn to analyse and understand the working of global financial markets, exploring aspects such as financial risk management, asset pricing, and monetary policy.
  • This specialisation delves into the analysis and understanding of global financial markets.
• International Economics & Development: Contribute to global sustainable and inclusive development, tackling challenges such as poverty, inequality, green production, and climate-resilient livelihoods using state-of-the-art analytical tools and methods.
  • This specialisation prepares students to address global development challenges.
• International Political Economy: Uncover the economic and political dimensions of global issues and power struggles behind policy choices, learning to understand and explain the world from the perspectives of different stakeholders.
  • This specialisation examines the economic and political dimensions of global issues.

Pre-Master's Program

In some cases, when an education background does not grant direct admission to the Master's program in Economics, students can enrol in a pre-Master's program. Finishing one of these programs grants direct access to the Master’s program.
