Writing with AI

General

This workshop is designed to help participants understand how generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) like ChatGPT can complement and improve their writing skills. The workshop will cover the basics of working effectively with AI, including writing prompts, asking follow-up questions, and critically assessing the output. Participants will also learn about the drawbacks and risks of using AI in writing.

Content and Format

The workshop will be held on-site and will last for three hours. It will include practical exercises where participants will work on their own texts, so it is essential that they bring a text to work on. The workshop will help participants stay up-to-date and embrace the potential of AI for their writing.

Topics Covered

• How to work effectively with AI
• Working responsibly with AI
• Preparing a text: using AI as a brainstorming partner
• Writing a text: using AI for writing tasks and critically evaluating the output
• Revising a text: deciding which aspects of the text can be improved with AI, asking for feedback, and evaluating and applying the results

After Completing the Workshop

Participants will have a better understanding of various AI tools, what these tools can help with, and when it is wise to refrain from using AI. They will also understand the risks and pitfalls of AI tools and how to use AI in different phases of the writing process.

Who is this Workshop For?

This workshop is aimed at anyone who regularly writes texts and wants to learn how AI can help in the process. It is designed for people who have little or no experience of writing with AI.
