This course is designed to help learners understand employee relations in China, including demographics, law, and employee value propositions. It covers the measurement of effective Employee Relations (ER), the China ER context, management of the ER baseline from a legal and compliance perspective, and ER management from good to great beyond the baseline.

Syllabus
- Session 1: Labor Relations (LR) and Employee Relations (ER) This session introduces the definition of LR and ER in general and in this course. One case is discussed to demonstrate why companies should care about ER from both employers and employees' perspectives. The measurements of ER are also provided.
- Session 2: China Context: Demographics and Employee Value Proposition This session zooms in on the China context for effective ER management. The factors of demographics and Employee Value Proposition (EVP) are discussed and analyzed in detail with sufficient data.
- Session 3: Baseline Management: Legal and Compliance This session delves into the context in China from the legal perspective, including the relevant laws and regulations about the key elements in ER, including manpower solutions, terms, probation, social insurance, overtime, separation, and severance. With sufficient data provided, how to manage the compulsory baseline is discussed in depth.
- Session 4: Good to Great ER Management This session moves forward to discuss how to effectively manage ER in China from good to great. It points out that person-organizational fit will lead to job satisfaction and a higher retention rate. Approaches and capabilities in effective ER are discussed from both the employers and employees' perspectives.
- Session 5: Effective Employee Relations Management in China Business Context Quiz Please respond to all questions.
