Program Overview

Introduction to the Program

The Master of Engineering Management (MEM) program at the China University of Science and Technology is designed to cultivate high-level, application-oriented, and compound engineering management professionals. The program focuses on providing students with a solid foundation in engineering management theory and specialized knowledge, as well as the ability to innovate and apply scientific methods and technical skills to solve engineering management problems.

Admission Requirements

To be eligible for the program, applicants must meet the following requirements:

• Hold a bachelor's degree in a relevant field
• Have at least two years of work experience in a related field (calculated up to August 31, 2026)
• Meet one of the following conditions:
  • Be a senior manager or above in a state-owned enterprise or a government agency
  • Be a senior manager or above in a related field
  • Be a senior manager or above in a high-tech enterprise
  • Have other justifiable reasons (with supporting materials)

Examination and Evaluation

The examination and evaluation process consists of:

• Initial examination: a unified national examination for graduate students (managed by the state), which includes English (100 points) and comprehensive ability (200 points)
• Re-examination: a combination of background evaluation and face-to-face interview, with the re-examination result determined by a panel of experts based on the applicant's background and interview performance
• Face-to-face interview: evaluates the applicant's political theory, English application ability, professional knowledge, psychological quality, and comprehensive ability

Admission and Enrollment

Admission is based on the principle of "emphasizing both morality and talent, and prioritizing talent." The admission result is determined by the final score, which is calculated as follows:

• Final score = (initial examination score / 3 + re-examination score) / 2
• The re-examination score is calculated as (background evaluation + face-to-face interview) / 3
• The face-to-face interview evaluates the applicant's political theory, English application ability, professional knowledge, psychological quality, and comprehensive ability

Tuition Fees

The total tuition fee for the program is 198,000 CNY, paid in installments:

• First year: 60,000 CNY
• Second year: 60,000 CNY
• Third year: 78,000 CNY (discounted)
• Fourth year: 58,000 CNY (discounted)
• Fifth year: 2,000 CNY

Program Duration and Location

The program duration is three years, with a maximum of five years. The program is located at the China University of Science and Technology (main campus).

Degree Awarded

Upon completing the program and defending their thesis, students are awarded the Master of Engineering Management degree and a graduation certificate. The degree is issued by the China University of Science and Technology.
