Introduction to the 2025 China Science and Technology University - City University of Hong Kong Joint Research Program
The 2025 China Science and Technology University - City University of Hong Kong Joint Research Program is a collaborative effort between the two institutions to provide a unique opportunity for students to pursue a successive Master's and Doctoral program. This program aims to foster academic excellence and research collaboration between the two universities.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for this program, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be a second-year Master's student at China Science and Technology University
- Have a strong academic record, with a minimum GPA requirement as specified by City University of Hong Kong
- Meet the English language proficiency requirements, with a minimum TOEFL score of 79 or IELTS score of 6.5
- Have a valid TOEFL or IELTS score, with a validity period of two years from the test date
Program Structure
The program is designed to be completed within five years, with the following structure:
- Years 1-2: Master's studies at China Science and Technology University
- Year 3: Concurrent enrollment in Master's studies at China Science and Technology University and Doctoral studies at City University of Hong Kong
- Years 4-5: Doctoral studies at City University of Hong Kong

Admission Criteria
Admission to the program is based on a competitive selection process, with consideration given to the applicant's academic record, research potential, and English language proficiency. A panel review and interview may be conducted as part of the selection process.
Program Outcomes
Upon completion of the program, students will be awarded a Master's degree from China Science and Technology University and a Doctoral degree from City University of Hong Kong. The program aims to produce graduates with advanced research skills and knowledge in their field of study, as well as a strong foundation for future academic and professional pursuits.
