Program Introduction

This program combines chemistry and art, exploring the beauty of chemistry from an artistic perspective and the truth of chemistry from an artistic perspective. The program is taught by instructors from the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the School of Art, and is divided into theoretical (20 hours) and practical (40 hours) components.

Theoretical Component

The theoretical component is presented in a lecture format and covers topics such as:

• "Beautiful Structure - The Beauty of Chemical Structure"
• "Vibrant Colors - The Beauty of Chemical Colors"
• "Wonderful Changes - The Beauty of Chemical Reactions" The instructors will also introduce the use of scientific drawing software and image processing software for artistic design.

Practical Component

The practical component combines structure, color, and reaction, and includes open and designed experiments such as:

• Glassblowing
• Ceramics
• Metalworking The final project will be presented in the form of a thesis or an artistic work.
