The program is titled "化学与艺术-手工印染" (Chemistry and Art - Handicrafts). The course code is HS1606.01.

Program Introduction

This program combines chemistry and art, exploring the beauty of chemistry from an artistic perspective and the truth of chemistry from an artistic perspective. The program is taught by instructors from the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the School of Art, and is divided into theoretical (20 hours) and practical (40 hours) sections.

Theoretical Section

The theoretical section is presented in a lecture format, covering topics such as:

• "The Beauty of Structure - Chemical Structure"
• "The Beauty of Color - Chemical Color"
• "The Beauty of Change - Chemical Reaction" Instructors will use scientific visualization software and image processing software to design artistic works.

Practical Section

The practical section combines structure, color, and reaction, and includes experiments such as:

• Handicrafts
• Painting
• Sculpture The final project will be presented in the form of a thesis or artistic work.

Program Goals

The program aims to help students understand the beauty of chemistry and apply chemical knowledge to the field of handicrafts, inspiring new possibilities for artistic creation.
