Introduction to the Master's in Management Program

The Master's in Management program at Peking University HSBC Business School (PHBS) aims to enhance the global perspective and professional abilities of aspiring managers and leaders. The program covers essential coursework such as entrepreneurship, organizational behavior, strategic management, and marketing management. Graduates are expected to have a deep understanding of business fundamentals, adaptability in dynamic environments, and practical managerial skills.

Program Curriculum

Students are required to fulfill 54 credits (including 13 required courses, 4 major elective courses, and 1 general elective course), complete 2 required courses that do not count credits (Graduate Thesis Seminar), and complete a master’s thesis.

Cross-Border MA Management

Students admitted to the program will spend one year at the PHBS UK Campus and another year at the PHBS main campus in Shenzhen. This program provides specialized training in management, blending theory with practice through interdisciplinary courses in management theories, economics, and organizational behavior. It incorporates mathematical and logical thinking with creative and lateral thinking for analyzing and solving problems.

Program Outcomes

Upon successfully completing all first-year coursework at the UK campus, PHBS UK will issue a certificate recognizing academic achievements in the United Kingdom. Following the successful completion of all second-year requirements and the defense of the thesis, students will be conferred a master's degree from Peking University (PKU).

Admissions

• Admissions for the 2026 cohort are now open and will close on March 31, 2026.
• Must hold a bachelor’s degree from a recognized university.
• Must be a non-Chinese citizen with a valid passport.
• Must have proof of English proficiency with a satisfactory TOEFL (90 and above) or IELTS (6.5 and above) score, unless the applicant is a native English speaker. Applicants of Cross-Border programs should take IELTS UKVI.

Fee & Finances

• Tuition for the MA programs is 60,000 RMB per year and must be paid in full in the first week of each academic year.
• In addition, expenses for room and board on campus are estimated to be 50,000 RMB per year.
• Each year, Peking University HSBC Business School awards school-funded scholarships to selected Master's applicants.
