Master's Program in China Studies at the Yenching Academy of Peking University

The Yenching Academy of Peking University offers an elite, interdisciplinary Master's program in China Studies. This specially designed, English-taught degree program aims to push the study of China beyond the boundaries of traditionally defined Humanities and Social Sciences disciplines. All Yenching Scholars receive a full fellowship that covers tuition, one round-trip journey to Beijing, accommodation on campus, basic health insurance, and a monthly stipend.

Program Details

• The Yenching Academy admits 120 Scholars from 40+ countries and regions each year.
• In addition to coursework, scholars participate in field studies and self-designed research trips, taking advantage of opportunities to customize and maximize their experiences in Beijing, and within China's leading university.

Application Timeline

• International applicants: August 15 to December 3, 2021 (12:00 noon Beijing time)
• Applicants from the Chinese regions of Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan: August 15, 2021, to January 14, 2022 (5:00 pm Beijing time)

• Applicants from the Chinese regions of Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan must also complete an online application on the Peking University Graduate Admissions website.
• All students and alumni of Partner Universities must apply through both the university's internal application process and the Yenching Academy admissions portal.
