Program Overview


Master of Advanced Studies in Urban and Territorial Design

The Master of Advanced Studies in Urban and Territorial Design (MAS UTD) is a one-year, full-time postgraduate programme offered jointly by ETH Zürich D-ARCH and EPFL ENAC. The programme is taught in English and held at the two Swiss schools, with participants receiving a 60 ECTS joint degree, the “MAS ETH EPFL UTD I.”


Programme Overview

The MAS UTD programme links the ETH Zürich Department of Architecture and EPF Lausanne School of Architecture, Civil and Environmental Engineering. It is part of the ETH Zürich D-ARCH Landscape and Urban Studies Institute (LUS) and the EPFL ENAC Habitat Research Center (HRC).


Programme Details

  • The programme is committed to cultivating a successful social environment in Switzerland and cannot be attended remotely.
  • Support services are offered to assist in finding accommodation.
  • Participants requiring a visa to Switzerland must complete the application procedure before March 31, 2024.

Application Process

  • Applications for the coming year 2024 – 2025 will be open from the 1st of February until the 30th of April.
  • In the rolling application process, applications will be evaluated successively within two weeks after submission.
  • To secure a place within the programme, early applications are encouraged.
