Overview of the Master of Technology in Artificial Intelligence Systems (MTech AIS) Programme

The NUS Master of Technology in Artificial Intelligence Systems (MTech AIS) is a practice-based programme tailored for professionals seeking to design and develop systems that leverage Artificial Intelligence and cutting-edge technologies. This versatile programme covers a wide range of applications, including enterprise LLMS, chatbots, robotics, autonomous vehicles, intelligent sensing systems, the Internet of Things, Smart City projects, Industry 4.0, all the while ensuring business impact through AI system delivery.

Programme Description

Focusing on the core concepts, techniques, and methods of Artificial Intelligence (including Generative AI where applicable), the MTech AIS programme teaches students how to apply these principles to create sophisticated Artificial Intelligence Systems. Students will gain both the theoretical knowledge and practical skills necessary to excel as an AI Systems specialist. Additionally, the programme prepares students to lead the development of AI Systems, enabling them to deliver effective and innovative business solutions for their organisation.

Learning Outcomes

  • Apply Artificial Intelligence Systems concepts, techniques, and methods to solve diverse problems across multiple domains, including business, manufacturing, engineering, and healthcare, utilising the latest advancements in technology.
  • Lead the development of Artificial Intelligence Systems using state-of-the-art tools and techniques, such as Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Large Language Models (LLMs), Generative AI, Prediction, Forecasting, Classification, Clustering and Optimisation.
  • Design and customise sophisticated algorithms to address complex business challenges, enhance operational efficiency, and create strategic advantages.

Recognition

  • Top student is awarded the SPH Medal and Prize
  • Best Project Prize

Study Award & Scholarships

  • NUS-ISS ASEAN Merit-Based Study Award: A partial scholarship initiative launched to enhance NUS-ISS's visibility across ASEAN countries (excluding Singapore) while supporting deserving students from developing nations to pursue full-time Master's programmes at NUS-ISS in Singapore. This merit-based award covers 40% of the tuition fees.
  • IMDA Post Graduate Scholarship: The SG Digital Scholarship (Postgraduate) is an industry scholarship that empowers students pursuing tech or media-related studies at the Masters or PhD level.

SkillsFuture Level-Up Programme

Singaporeans aged 40 and above can receive a SkillsFuture Credit enhanced subsidy top-up of $4,000 through the SkillsFuture Level-Up Programme. The subsidy can be used to offset the course fees.

Career Pathways

Find your fit with new opened doors

There is opportunity in Singapore for most areas of IT. What you learn in terms of IT skills is not as important as what you do with it. It is the attitude and the ability to learn from mistakes, and to contribute back to the company that you work for that is likely to make more of a difference than specific IT skills.
