Introduction to Advance@NUS
Advance@NUS is an admissions pathway for adult learners to earn their first Bachelor’s Degree as full-time undergraduates. The selection process for Advance@NUS focuses on professional experience rather than academic qualifications. This pathway allows adults who have rich professional experience to broaden their knowledge base and skills, and improve their future career prospects.

The programmes offered under the Advance@NUS scheme are listed below:
- School of Business: Bachelor of Business Administration
- College of Design and Engineering:
- Bachelor of Engineering (Chemical Engineering)
- Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical Engineering)
- Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical Engineering)
- Bachelor of Engineering (Civil Engineering)
- Bachelor of Engineering (Infrastructure and Project Management)
- College of Humanities and Sciences:
- Bachelor of Arts (all majors)
- Bachelor of Social Sciences (all majors)
- Bachelor of Science (limited to majors in Chemistry, Life Sciences, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics)
- Faculty of Science: Bachelor of Pharmacy (Honours)
Admission Requirements
Applicants must:
- be a Singapore Citizen (SC) or Singapore Permanent Resident (SPR); and,
- NOT already have a bachelor's degree; and,
- be at least 25 years old in the year of matriculation; OR,
- have at least 4 years of full-time working experience (including National Service) as of 1 July in the year of matriculation.
Application Process
Step 1 - Apply Online
Apply by submitting an electronic application form via the Application Portal during the application window. You may apply to only ONE of the bachelor's degree programmes offered.
Step 2 - Upload Supporting Documents
You are required to upload your supporting documents to the Application Portal before submitting your application.
Step 3 - Pay the Application Fee
The application fee is $54.50 (including 9% GST). After submitting your online application, you will be directed to the online payment portal to pay your application fee.
Admission Timeline
- August intake:
- December to January: Application period
- March to May: Release of application outcome
- March to May: Bridging / Refresher Course; or, Entrance Test; or, Interviews
- June: Release of final application outcome (after entrance examinations and/or interview)
- July: Pre-enrolment activities and Incoming Students Registration Matters
- Second week of August: Start of Semester 1

Acceptance and Registration Information
- Conditions of Offer: Your admission to NUS is subject to the requirements found on the university's website.
- First-Year Registration Matters: Admitted students will receive an email invitation for student onboarding from the Office of the University Registrar (OUR).
Scholarships
- NUS Merit Scholarship and NUS Undergraduate Scholarship: We have a limited number of NUS Merit Scholarship and NUS Undergraduate Scholarship for Advance@NUS students who exhibit outstanding professional experience and leadership qualities.
- Eligibility Criteria:
- Be Singapore Citizens.
- Have strong leadership qualities and potential.
- Have good professional background.
- Demonstrate strong interest in programme and ability to overcome adversity and obstacles.
- Be applying for admission to a full-time undergraduate degree programme at NUS via Advance@NUS.
- Scholarship Benefits:
- NUS Merit Scholarship:
- Subsidised Tuition fees (after MOE Tuition Grant subsidy).
- S$6,000.00 annual living allowance.
- S$2,000.00 one-time computer allowance upon enrolment.
- Guaranteed Student Exchange Programme (SEP) placement with one of NUS’ overseas partner universities for one semester.
- Priority to be considered for on-campus accommodation for the first two years of undergraduate studies.
- Bond-free scholarship.
- NUS Undergraduate Scholarship:

Terms and Conditions
- The NUS Merit Scholarship and NUS Undergraduate Scholarship are offered to full-time undergraduate students and are tenable for the normal candidature period.
- Award recipient(s) should not be concurrent holders of other scholarship, fellowship, bursary, grant, award, allowance, waiver or free aid without prior approval from the University.
- The scholarship will be renewed every semester provided the scholar maintains a Grade Point Average (GPA) of at least 3.5 (or equivalent) and has good conduct.
- If the scholar decides to withdraw from the University and/or terminate the scholarship prematurely, the University reserves the right to impose repayment of all scholarship monies disbursed to the scholar.
