MBBS Intercalated Year Programme (IYP)
The IYP provides an opportunity for NUS Medicine undergraduate medical students to take an academic year off and pursue another area of study.
Programme Information
The IYP is a full-time program that is completed in one academic year. There are five vacancies per academic year across all IYP offerings. Applicants must have a good academic record, in addition to the entry requirements of the Master’s programme.
Important Notes
- Successful applicants will need to apply for a one-year Leave of Absence (LOA) from the MBBS in order to pursue the IYP.
- Students who have existing official obligations such as PSC scholarship will need to obtain approval from the respective organisations prior to enrolment into the IYP.
- For male applicants, with completion of NS preferred if applicable, but students with NS liability are still welcomed to apply.
- Students who utilise their government subsidy for MOE subsidised graduate programmes under the IYP will not be eligible for another MOE subsidy should they choose to enroll in another graduate programme at the same or lower level in future.
