Programme Overview

This Professional Certificate in User Experience Design (UXD) offers a comprehensive foundation for aspiring UX Designers, delving into the intricate interplay between cognition, emotion, and sensation in crafting impactful user experiences.

Programme Objectives

The programme aims to equip learners with the following competencies:

• Understand what UXD is and the role of a UX Designer in the system development life cycle.
• Understand the skillsets a UX Designer must have to perform UXD.
• Understand the concepts of cognition, attention, memory, and mental models, and why are they important for UXD
• Understand the three components – Perception, Emotion and Sensation that make up an Experience
• Design appropriate Cognitive, Social and Emotional interactions to achieve the intended effects of influencing the components of Experience.
• Design products/services to influence human behaviour.
• Learn to perform the various techniques in Requirements Discovery.
• Learn to generate UX recommendations based on processes, policies, and people via the creation of Personas, Problem Scenarios and Use Case Definitions.
• Package and present the UX recommendations within the political, social, economic, and technological constraints.
